{15} Beautiful Ways to Decorate Your Home With Purple

I have always loved purple. The entire spectrum of purples. Call it violet or lavender or fuchsia or Radiant Orchid, I adore it. Lots of people shy away from using it in their decor, but when done right, it can be really stunning.

In our old home, the Queen Anne bungalow, we painted the walls of the butler's pantry the palest lavender, then painted the interior of the exposed cabinets in a deep eggplant. The trim was painted a warm gray. I loved that tiny room, and actually spent quite a bit of time in there at a little built-in table.

The space was sweet and elegant, and calming all at the same time.

Purple lends itself to lots of different design sensibilities, whether you like pretty cottage vignettes, like the one above with the gorgeous vintage plates against a lavender wall....

.... or you're into pretty, feminine vignettes, like the Chanel inspired space shown above.

Maybe you just want a little touch of purple? This watercolor lovebird painting might be just the thing!

I love this rendering of a purple upholstered Louis XV chair!

Lanterns and bookcases in this purple family room add elegance to a youthful space.

Walls.... tufted sofa.... ottoman.... enough said.

Fuchsia ottoman and lampshade? Yes, please!

Purple pairs so well with teals and golds!

Purple can make an amazing wall color. When grayed down like this it feels really sophisticated and elegant.

The combination of green wallpaper and purple medallion rug make this room feel fresh and pretty.

Just a little bit of fuchsia peaking through from the headboard, and repeated in the wall art is the perfect complement to the coral bedding in this space.

Miss Mustard Seed has a pale purple hue in her paint line called Dried Lavender. It's soft and pretty and has a lot of gray in it.

Seriously, if you have a purple velvet sofa, it doesn't matter how eclectically you put your room together -- it's going to look great!

Of course, you don't need to commit to a purple sofa or purple walls, to enjoy this lovely color in your life. These purple sea fans can stand on their own beautifully.

For a pop of intense color, and a change from the typical white or black doors, like I shared about here, try painting an interior door a deep rich eggplant!

Do you use purple in your home? Do you love it? Hate it? I would love to know your thoughts!
